Brainwashing vs Social Interaction
Posted by tmz_99 on September 18th, 2007 filed in UncategorizedSo I have been reading this book recently. “Brainwash – the secret history of mind control” by Dominic Streatfield and apart from being a really good read is has led me to think how most social interactions can be defined in this context.
Brainwashing is basically the art of making the subject act in a way that you expect them to react, the book details everything from the use of drugs, to torture to sex as a way of achieving these goals. On a daily basis we undertake the task of (even subconsciously) manipulating people to achieve our own ends (or the goals of our organisation – which basically means we are under its control). From the workplace to our private lives, people are always working on the others around them to get a pre-required effect (even if that effect is in fact perceived by the populace to be negative – such as a punch to the face).
Meh, food for thought, I better go finish the book. Promise I won’t slip LSD into your drink. Unless you want me to, if you do.. blink twice…
