On the ball….

Last night myself, Shannon, Rook and the girls went to DnD (Desperate and Dateless) ball – not that we’re desperate and dateless, rather I haven’t been to a ball since high school and Rogue Traders were playing. After sitting around in the hotel room and getting changed, throwing down some vodka and red bulls we headed off to the stadium in good spirits. Upon arriving we found that the line to get more liquor was so long, that once a person reached the end of the line they would once again find themselves sober. So a slight of hand was necessary to secure double the amount of drinks that were allowed by the organisers and the night went on. I found my white suit somewhat of a sucess, although I stood out I looked like a 70’s reject, meh.

The only one of us to pick up was Mellissa, although her guy (as we found out later in the night) allready appeared to have a gf and so that sort of fell flat on it’s arse.
Overall conclusions at the end of the night were much the same as usual; due to the high percentage of affluent individuals in WA  it appears that the women here seem to require guys to treat them all like the sun shines out of their arse. The problem being that all too many men are quite happy to go along with this, leaving the rest of us who have some self-respect high and dry. The after party at Capital bar was a complete sausage fest. The only woman I had a chance to talk to was a political activist and agreed she had no hobbies at all outside of her work. Which was sort of daunting and to be honest she appeared deadwood anyhow.
