Thorpedo

So Ian “Thorpedo” Thorpe resigned from the commonewealth games today because he has bronchitis and this has caused him to catch other illnesses which in turn have caused him to take more drugs in the last few weeks (including 2 substances banned from the Commonwealth Games) and not make a recovery.
This is some pretty huge news for Australians for whom Ian has proved a reliable world-beater.
I offer two alternative theories, hell call me drunk (and ok, so I’ve had a nightcap.. Courar XS is a good drop) BUT I think:….
1.) He is simply unable to compete, the whole “I’m so sick” bullshit is a mask to cover up the fact he is no longer competatinve (or at least not for these games due to too much partying, not enough training, whatever) – bottom line is, people always remember who goes out on top, if he was to compete and lose he would also stand to lose all that lovely media attention and lisencing deals… no-one pays attention to a has-been.
2.) Somebody has caught Ian with illicit substances and this is an easy way out… who approves the use of two illicit substances for perparation for a major world event? I believe they may be being used as a smoke screen for some other drugs (please, chemists, enlighten me) that may in fact be performance enhancing or perhaps even recreational. Ian may have been caught with these drugs and has taken the smart way out “these substances are to make me feel better”. The media has said Ian had bloodshot eyes, something I didn’t notice on my plasma High Def TV, in fact, his eyes looked brilliant. Apart from a raspy voice and a 3 day overdue shave there was nothing unfit about Ian. I’m sure that there is also doctors papers that his fame could buy… All in all, rather a shame, I really wish history was written honestly rather then in the interest of one individual.
This is why I don’t like watching the news, so much bullshit. That and nothing ever good comes on telly.
I went to the beach today with my sister and my dog, my dog swims fine, as long as it’s in one direction – straight for shore…

Pffft the news is just another way the government controls all the automatons. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s for information and entertainment. I’ve seen television…

Maybe he’s pulled out ‘coz it would take too long for him to shave down – look at him. My, hasn’t he let himself go. I don’t believe that he’s a drug cheat but to say that he had used two banned substances was unbelievable. Didn’t get caught by out-of-competition testing then.
