Where are they hiding that owl?
Posted by tmz_99 on February 18th, 2006 filed in UncategorizedSo today being a Saturday it’s actually that little quieter out here also.
This morning I woke up, went to our weekly safety meeting and got all the newest safety gossip (which like anything out here spreads like wildfire.. it appears 80 men on a rig are akin to women in a coffee shop when it comes to any news).
Unfortunately it appears we have a thief on board, apart from cash, DVD players and CD/movies going missing from peoples’ rooms it now appears he has stolen the LCD projector that we use for our safety meetings.
Out here, being in such close proximity with the same people for extended peroids of time a feeling of family develops.. Sure, you always have the weird unlce who only ever utters obseneties under his breath and the newphew who wants to take over the world; but a family no less. It is truly disheartening to know we have a traitor in our midst.
Movie Review: Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride
This movie is (unsurprisingly) about a man and his dead wife. It’s a musical and has that very Tim-Burtonish look that many of Tim Burton’s movies seem to have.
The charachters themselves are so quirky, each with their own personality that one only has to look at them to deduce.
The storyline itself is somewhat surprising. It takes a few twists and turns that all make up to being a very engrossing fantasy tale that I would recommend to all ages. The touching tale of love unrequited and sacrafice is clearly prevelant and makes for a very touching and universal story.
There isn’t much to say about this movie that isn’t heaping even more praise into it’s already worthy pile.
8.5/10

Quite enjoyed this movie Tom – saw it at the cinema.
Your “Family” on the rig made me laugh. I’m sure you could spill the beans on lots of goings on.
