Time ticks by ever so slowly…..
Posted by tmz_99 on February 16th, 2006 filed in UncategorizedSo, Im over the 1 week barrier! That leaves only 2 weeks till I’m back on shore and 3 weeks till I’m off on a tropical beach laying back and enjoying the sunshine, beaches and cheap drinks. I’ve since discovered my hotel is only 50m away from the main night club district which is handy as I’ll be arriving in my hotel about 10pm on a Friday night, just in time for celebrations to begin. With the foresight that I have now I almost wish I booked an extra day or two there, but then again I am sure that time spent with my family and friends is not wasted time.
The last few days have bought up the Valentie’s day debate between myself and some others… There really isn’t much to say about it I don’t think. It is another day in which like other days of the year the occurances bring about a pot of mixed emotions which differes from person to person, depending on their circumstances, past experiences and current emotional state.
Movie Review: Howl’s Moving Castle
I’ve been a long time fan of Anime. I remember going up to the local video store to rent out “Akira”, a movie I heard rave reviews about through the BBS (Bulleting Board Systems) and magazines. Ever since I’ve been hooked.
Howl’s Moving Catsle (HMC)Â is a romance between a girl who looks like an old hag and a boy who looks like a girl, and occasionaly a bird, sometimes something rather demonic. This whole story takes place in an alternate universe, sort of very 1930s but with giant flying ships and magical beasts where a war is raging between two superpowers.
Our protagonist gets drawn into the conflict when she falls in love with Howel, a magician with a mysterious past who works to stop innocents from being hurt in the war.
He also owns a giant castle that walks around the local scenery.
So it is that our hero, Sophie, with a rag-tag bunch of friends including a scarecrow, dog, witch, lion and tin man.. ah shit.. no lion and tin man.. but you get the idea 😉 So off she goes searching for true love and the ability to not look quite so old (moisturise daily). The story is great, there is little blood for an anime and the animation is quite pleasing.
