If I was to believe in the existence of a god-like being (especially so the Christian version of a god – seeing as my upbringing is R.C), then there would be some things that would change in my life.
\nBeing that I am self important (as in fact to some extent I believe every human is, everyone would like to think they are special) and not being an ass hole I would assume that god would take a personal interest in my life. I would have to thank Her for my good fortunes and constantly look for “signs” from Her with which to guide my life.
\nThat bad tea in the morning? Can’t go to work….. A Mitsubishi crashed outside my house – I must forever avoid the marquee…. A girl I met has the same birthday as an ex who cheated on me – a sure sign.
\nSo basically, believing in a higher omnipresent being would set a precedent in my life that would lead to constant paranoia and superstition, finally, being unable to cope with the fact that She was out to get me, that I wasn’t good enough. That unless I did something drastically right, I would go to hell.
\nIt is in my interest to live life the best way I know how, without any interruption or weight placed on my decisions due to a deity that may or may not exist and may or may not give a damn about how I live my life and what turns it takes…..<\/p>\n
