{"id":366,"date":"2007-09-18T20:35:07","date_gmt":"2007-09-18T12:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centaurtechnologies.com\/blog\/?p=366"},"modified":"2007-09-18T20:35:07","modified_gmt":"2007-09-18T12:35:07","slug":"brainwashing-vs-social-interaction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.centaurtechnologies.com\/blog\/?p=366","title":{"rendered":"Brainwashing vs Social Interaction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I have been reading this book recently. &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Brainwash-Secret-History-Mind-Control\/dp\/0340923644\/ref=sr_1_4\/202-8676657-6499847?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1190118428&#038;sr=8-4\">Brainwash &#8211; the secret history of mind control<\/a>&#8221; by Dominic Streatfield and apart from being a really good read is has led me to think how most social interactions can be defined in this context.<br \/>\nBrainwashing is basically the art of making the subject act in a way that you expect them to react, the book details everything from the use of drugs, to torture to sex as a way of achieving these goals. On a daily basis we undertake the task of (even subconsciously) manipulating people to achieve our own ends (or the goals of our organisation &#8211; which basically means we are under its control). From the workplace to our private lives, people are always working on the others around them to get a pre-required effect (even if that effect is in fact perceived by the populace to be negative &#8211; such as a punch to the face). <\/p>\n<p>Meh, food for thought, I better go finish the book. Promise I won&#8217;t slip LSD into your drink.
